Happy 4th of July

To all of those that are currently serving in the military my hat’s off to you.

I spent a few years in the USAF myself, but considered much of what I had to do a piece of cake compared to what’s going on in the world now.  Also much of the time I was deployed I was single which makes things a tad bit easier.  The men and women that are deployed now, in harms way…are really deserving a big heartfelt “Thank You.”

201am and Cranking out Evaluations

Do you ever think that working for yourself from home, living the internet dream is all cookies and cream?

Let me tell you, sure it’s great, but when you occasionally take on one too many clients you end up becoming one of your own worst bosses…forced overtime to get projects done is a reality.

You know the one thing though that makes it all worth while?  Enjoying what you do and being able to have a seriously flexible schedule most of the time.

That’s it for now, just wanted to take a break for a minute before getting back on the horse for another hour or two.

New Yahoo Design

Well I guess it’s finally hit me. Yahoo’s new design on the front page is showing up live on my interweb. My father sent me some screen captures from his computer at work several weeks ago and I thought it was ’so so’ then and today seeing it live I feel the same.

What don’t I like about it? Well first off I don’t like change unless it comes to menu items and women. (Just kidding honey!) Secondly, it seems to have lost that Yahoo feel. I miss the simple but very ‘yahooish’ buttons uptop that I’ve grown used to seeing over the past decade. Moving the menu to the left is fine I guess. Give me a few months and I might like this new setup.

Oh one other thing that irked me was that they moved where the news box was and replaced that section with ads. I know that’s a little thing but one of the reasons I like yahoo other than for search and email is I usually take a quick peek at their news box daily. Now I have to drag my lazy eyes over to the middle of the page. Boooooooooooooo.

If you’re not seeing this yet here’s a thumbnail (click for the big version) of the new design on yahoo. Enjoy…or not.

Welcome to the Shapeable Blog

Yes, it’s true, I finally succumbed to two things:

1) providing SEO and internet marketing consultation to a wider audience and

2) blogging of course.
Why did it take me so long??
